I thought long and hard before posting this because if I tell you… I have to actually stick to it.
I’m now officially “one of those people” who is going to start giving up on books I don’t enjoy and move onto the next one!
I gave Euphoria by Lily King a try. I really did. I just couldn’t get into it for the life of me. I felt like I was reading a book for my anthropology glass in high school…
What’s even worse, it was given to me (along with a raving review) by someone who has amazing taste in books. I wanted to like it more than you know.
I. Just. Didn’t.
So you know what I did? Finally after 6 months of it haunting me on my nightstand every time I chose a different book over it, I have finally decided to throw in the towel.
Because life is too short to read books you don’t like!
Over these last few months my “free time” has become more than scarce… almost non-existent. And that means that the few pages I get to squeeze in a week need to be ones that I actually enjoy!
I don’t know how long this ‘phase” will last (probably about as long as my jet-black hair phase… a whopping 2 days). But I’m going to give it a try.
If I make it halfway through a book and I still don’t enjoy picking it up to read, I’m putting it down and moving on!
What are your thoughts on not finishing a book you don’t like?
Now that I’ve kicked Euphoria to the curb, I’m picking up my Hello Book Lover May read and am completely obsessed! I’m feeling great about this decision already :)
