People ask me all the time why I wear an Apple watch and if I like it. Sure it’s handy to see a text message on my watch, or get a meeting notification when I’m away from my desk, but what I love most about it is the activity tracker!
There are three rings that monitor your activity each day; one counting active calories, one counting active minutes, and one counting the number of times you stand up throughout the day.
They even gamify it by giving you rewards for “move streaks” (the number of days in a row that you hit your active calorie count) and reminding you when you haven’t stood up in a while.
Although it’s not the most fashionable tracker out there (have you seen Kate Spade’s activity tracker??), it sure does keep me motivated and moving every day, and that’s the most important thing!
I’m finally aware when I’ve been sitting for hours straight without getting up to walk at the office. Not to mention it holds me accountable for those mornings I’m “too tired” to workout by sending me an activity summary mid-day as a friendly reminder to get moving. There have been a lot of evening walks lately to ensure I complete my daily goals. I’m currently on a 26 day move streak!
How do you stay active? Do you use an activity tracker?
P.S. I just downloaded BBG this weekend and day 1, week 1 starts tomorrow!
