No trip is complete without a bag full of books you won’t end up getting through more than just a few chapters of during vacation.
I already had two books packed away for my two week hiking trip in Switzerland, but I’m also an impulse buyer. When I saw the most recently recommended book by theSkimm in the airport I instantly paid the crazy price and bought it!
Here are the three books weighing down my luggage right now:
A Hundred Summers by Beatriz Williams
This book is a bit tough to get into, which is what I’ve said about amazing books before so I know I need to keep trying. But since packing it in my suitcase for the trip, I have not read one page of it. I started the trip on page 52 and am still on page 52.
A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle
If you’ve followed my bog for a while then you know this book has been on my reading list for the last 5 years (sadly this is not a joke). This book has probably been carried on at least 6 vacations with the intent of reading, but keeps getting bumped for the new releases I stumble upon (frequently in the airport). This book hasn’t even surfaced out of the bottom of my bag yet. I heard amazing things about it though, so one day it will have to be read!
The Woman in Cabin 10 by Ruth Ware
Totally worth the impulse buy :) This is the only book I’ve actually cracked open and I’m loving it! I’m also completely obsessed with the cover (yes, I judge books by their covers). I’m halfway into it and I’m hooked (and I like it so much better than Ruth Ware’s last book). I’m glad I gave her a second chance! If you are looking for a new thriller, pick this one up!
If only I could keep my eyes open a few minutes longer at night I would be able to finish one of these before flying home at the end of the week. But so far sleep has won every night.
What books are you reading right now?
