(my new favorite go-to this summer)
Rental car company: “For an extra $30 you can get a convertible…”
Me: “HECK YES!”
If you follow me on Instagram, then you know I was running around Miami for a little weekend getaway with the boyfriend.
From the moment we got in the car Saturday morning, to when we dropped it back off yesterday at 5am, that top didn’t go up once (except for 5 minutes during a commonly unexpected Florida downpour). We blasted AC out the open top while getting a suntan as we drove.
There’s no better feeling than having two full days to explore a city. Especially when you’re only focused on food, drinks, sunshine, and fun. Four of my favorite things.
Bacon was about 1/4 of my diet this weekend. If you find yourself in Coral Gables (and hungry), I strongly strongly recommend you check out Swine.
Not only was their food delicious and ambiance amazing, their staff was the friendliest I’ve encountered in quite a while!
I stuffed my face with their blueberry cornbread muffins and BLT benedict (and wine).
We then drove around town picking out the homes we would own if we were retired and loaded. We settled for one that was probably about 12 million on the water with a guest house for friends to visit. I will send along our forwarding address once we find the 12 million dollars :)
After we had settled on the 8 bedroom house we now called “Casa Blanca” we stopped for… you guessed it… more food! I think I will be dreaming about these tacos from Masa Taqueria until I go back again for more.
They were loaded with tastiness, cooked to perfection, paired with parmesan coated corn, chips, and of course ice cold beers :) Ice cold beer is the best way to combat the heat while eating al fresco.
After that there were two stops in Little Havana for fresh pressed juices (my first was mango, followed 10 minutes later by watermelon) and then dinner out at Glass and Vine.
With a wakeup call at 3:30am (where I woke up still stuffed from my 24-hours of continual eating) and a full day of work after, it was an early bedtime for me last night (hence why this post is a day late, whoops!). But it was completely worth it.
Tonight I will dream about riding around in the passenger seat of our convertible with a watermelon juice in one hand and one of those tacos in the other :)
Until next time, Miami!
