I’m not a spontaneous person. This comes in handy when making sure there are always groceries in the fridge and I’m on time for appointments. But it’s not handy when the boyfriend wants to randomly drop everything and head to the beach for a day.
I’m a creature of habit.
But when my best friend and her husband called us up last weekend with one of the most spontaneous and epic offers I’ve received, I actually decided to say yes!
In 4 days the boyfriend and I are flying out to Colorado to spend the weekend in the mountains. Double date to the extreme :) The boyfriend was thrilled since it’s his birthday weekend. His birthday just got a mega upgrade with a day of hitting the slopes.
Of course, living in Miami I have very few (literally no) winter clothes left from my DC days, especially serious cold weather clothes for snowmobiling and snowshoeing… and wine drinking at the winery. Wine always warms me up!
All weekend long I was searching online for some of the warmest, cutest winter gear. Here are four things I’m currently swooning over, and seriously contemplating spending $20 to have it overnighted to me in time for our trip Friday.
1. Ted Baker London Leather Gloves – Every girl needs a cute pair of leather gloves up north.
2. Alexander McQueen Skull-Print Silk-Chiffon Scarf – I’m always looking for an excuse to buy this scarf. It may not keep me very warm, but it’s so pretty!
3. BB Dakota Peppin Jacket – I’m a sucker for a jacket with a waterfall front and it looks quite cozy.
4. Topshop Tipped Ruffle Crop Sweater – Less than $50! I’m love with this and the cute ruffles.
Have you ever been to Breckenridge before? I need all the recommendations!
