Nothing’s better than laying out by the pool on the weekends reading while you soak up the sun. Or curled up in bed on a Sunday morning with a cup of coffee in one hand and a page-turner in the other. There’s just something about summer that makes me want to read!
In preparation, I’ve been working on my summer reading list and have narrowed it down to my top four.
The After Party by Anton DiSclafani – Sometimes I pick books purely based on their title (and a lot of the times purely based on their cover). I’m pretty sure that’s what happened with this selection! No clue if it’s a good read, but I’ve already decided I’m going to read it :)
The Good Girl by Mary Kubica – Sometimes summer reads don’t necessarily need to be light and fluffy. I think this thriller will be the perfect compliment to a starry night outside on the roof reading in the warm night air.
A Year in Provence by Peter Mayle – It’s actually pretty sad how long this book has been on my reading list. The copy on my bookshelf is actually starting to fade on the cover… that’s how long. Four people have recommended it to me, so I know it’s going to be great! I just need some summertime free time to sit down with it and finally crack it open.
Eight Hundred Grapes by Laura Dave – I got this gem in my June Hello Book Lover box and it’s first on my list to read! If you haven’t heard of Hello Book Lover before, this post will get you up to speed!
I don’t know what I loved more in my June box this month, the book or all the plant related goodies! I got my green thumb from my grandmother and have a bag of soil in my closet at all times just incase there’s something I can plant and put in my apartment window. I know… kind of odd… but there is just something about growing things that makes me so happy :)
I have the perfect window set up for these new additions and plan to turn that basil into a tasty basil gimlet one day!
