I’ve been home 4 full days in the last 6 weeks.
My life has consisted of flying home late one night and leaving early the next morning for the airport. I’m actually starting to recognize TSA employees at MIA (no, this is not me bragging). I’ve been traveling WAY too much lately…
Toronto (work). Atlanta (work), DC (work), New Jersey (friend’s wedding), and now I’m on the plane to San Francisco (work).
To come: Atlanta again (work), Sarasota (work/play), and Tampa (work)….
So how have I been passing the time?
Online shopping: You know my love of Lulus, and I ordered this amazing dress with bell sleeves that I wore to a wedding welcome party last week. I think I may use it again for Halloween to be Morticia from the Addam’s family :) Our office always does a fun costume contest.
Reading: I’m struggling to get through my copy of The Summer Before the War by Helen Simonson and I’ve been carrying it in my purse for the last 6 weeks on planes. It’s a great storyline, but some parts have dragged on a bit. I hope to finish it up on this long flight across the country (and at 5am when I can’t sleep because of jet lag).
Listening: You all know I love to binge audible books, and they have seriously been the thing to get me through all these flights. I pop on my noise canceling headphones and escape to another world. I just finished “reading” Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman which was so much better than I imagined, and also nothing like what I thought it would be. I can’t wait until Reese makes a killer movie out of it. I just started Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie because I knew I had to read it before the movie came out.
Planning: All of my day dreaming and planning has gone to the holidays! I’m so excited to have some quiet time without a computer and be surrounded by family. For Thanksgiving we are headed to Maryland to be with the boyfriend’s family and for Christmas we will be with mine in Florida. Counting down the days!
What have you all been up to lately? I hope your lives have been calmer than mine!
Post coming soon: How to survive traveling for work :)
