Being raised in Florida on the water, I always had a swimming suit on under my Lilly sundress and all my accessories were waterproof. Nobody has time to take off jewelry before jumping onto a jet ski… I barely had time to rip off that sundress!
Because of this wonderful upbringing, my accessories game is a bit sub-par now in my grownup years. I’ve started to purchase more statement pieces that (shockingly) aren’t waterproof and try to always have a few pieces on every day.. but it’s not always top of mind at 6am when I’m getting ready for work.
Since I’m still learning, I’ve found some staples that I always turn to when I’m running late or in doubt about what looks best with an dress.
Are you thinking to yourself, “well Amanda, why is everything gold?” (If not, just play along with me…) When I was younger, I used to be all about silver. Then sometime in college I woke up one morning and did a 180-degree turn. GOLD! What had I been thinking all these years wearing silver?!
So there you have it, beach bum turned gold lover, just trying to find the fastest and easiest way to accessorize every morning :)
But don’t get me wrong, if there is an opportunity to jump on a boat and head out surfing I will allow all of these staple accessories to bite the dust in the bottom of the ocean (but since I live in DC now, that’s not as likely).
What are your staple jewelry pieces for day-to-day life?
P.S. I can not recommend these little gold rings from this Etsy shop enough! I never take mine off and have ordered them for three different friends.
