After a snow day yesterday and a delayed start to work today because the roads are ice rinks, I’m pretty much ready to pack my bags and get on the first flight back to Florida. Why, Winter? Why do you have to do this to us?
I know most people would be thrilled with a snow day, but that just isn’t me. I would take 100 degree weather over 50 degree weather any day (Note: It’s currently 35 out there).
Yes, I know these aren’t real issues. I’m lucky enough to have a warm bed, loads of blankets, and a hot cup of coffee to keep me warm as the roads begin to melt… but while I’m on this rant, I figured I would share my other #firstworldproblems I struggle with on a daily basis. Don’t judge.
I have a serious fear of parking. It’s not the actual process of getting my car into a spot, but the process of finding that said spot. Getting a parking spot in DC is like competing in the Hunger Games.
I blindly rely on auto correct, on my computer and my phone. And when autocorrect still can’t guess what on earth I’m trying to spell, I rewrite the whole sentence so I don’t have to use that word.
Reading a bad book.
I’m one of those people who just can’t ditch a book, no matter how much I hate it. I’m currently (slowly) dragging myself through Dept. of Speculation by Jenny Offill… Spoiler: I’m not recommending it.
Buying flowers that die the next day.
I’ve had a bad streak when it comes to buying flowers lately. Beautiful flowers that I paid $12 for that then begin to keel over the moment I get them home… not even lasting until the event I bought them for. I could have gotten a whole bottle of wine for $12! And it would have made me much happier… even though it still would only last me a day or two ;)
You can’t wear cute outfits because you have 12 layers on, your nose runs, and you can never get warm. I know I reference this in just about ever post during the winter.. but cold weather just stinks. There is no other way to say it.
Dead phone when I need to use my GPS.
To say I have a bad sense of direction would be inaccurate. I have NO sense of direction. So when I’m driving home from a work meeting with 8% battery, relying solely on my phone GPS to get me the 10 miles home, panic begins to set in.
TVs not working on treadmills.
I have dragged my butt all the way to the gym (in the freezing cold might I add) so that I can train for my half marathon and run 8 miles after my already exhausting work day… and the TV on the darn thing doesn’t work. Oh happy day. Looks like I’m only running 2 miles.
The ice has started to melt outside (I’m hoping) so I guess I should get ready for work now… hmmm struggle #8, what to wear to work today…
What are your #firstworldproblems you deal with on a daily basis? I won’t judge :)
