So I’m starting to understand the hype around BBG. I can feel my little muscles getting stronger.
I never could grasp why the BBG following was almost cult like. One mention of it and everyone has tried it at some point in time. This is always followed by raving reviews about how they were in the best shape of their lives.
These are my initial thoughts post BBG training week 1:
You can literally do this anywhere
You can do this in your living room, backyard, or kitchen. The location doesn’t matter because you don’t need special equipment. Use a water jug as a weight or a stair as a bench step and you’re set. I wish I could set my gym membership on a hold for the next few weeks because it’s even easier to complete these at my house than dragging myself over to the gym. Plus, Florida is like 55 degrees in the mornings now, it’s a bit chilly for a 6am walk (sorry anyone who is actually up north in negative degree weather, Floridians are wimps).
I never knew 28 minutes could feel so long some days
I though the 4 circuits for 7 minutes each would fly by, but those days when there are loads of knee ups (my least favorite move) I feel as if the 28 minutes is really like 48. But give me ab moves and I can make those 27 minutes feel like 18. Some circuits are easier than others.
Love using HIIT open goal on my iWatch
I didn’t tell y’all, but Santa was kind enough to bring me the new Series 3 iWatch for Christmas. He must have seen me raving about the Series 1 and felt I needed an upgrade. The HIIT open activity goal is perfect for tracking these BBG workouts.
A massage kept me motivated last week
BBG works parts my my body I never even knew had muscles until the next day when they’re killing me. I’ve been saying for weeks how I need to get a massage (being hunched over a computer every day isn’t good for you), but I held off until the end of week 1 as a treat for myself. Best 60 minutes of my life!
Have you all done BBG before? Week two already looks harder, I’m going to need a second cup of coffee before I try it this morning… there are more knee ups.
