I hinted towards this adventure a few weeks ago (and in honor of Father’s Day yesterday, it seems like the right time to share), my father and I are hiking Tour de Mont Blanc this summer!
Last year my father and I tackled a different mountain in Switzerland and I shared four things I learned while hiking. I will admit, I didn’t expect we would be headed back just one year later, but I’m so excited to get to experience this again!
I’ve also never been more in need of unplugging for two weeks (#workingworldproblems) and exploring nature with my best buddy since day 1. Watch out, there are sneaky bunnies on the trail :)
Tour du Mont Blanc lead by Alpenwild is the hike circling Western Europe’s highest peak. We will spend two weeks hiking through France, Switzerland, and Italy! The very rare occasion you come across another hiker on the trail it’s hard to know if you should say “bonjour”, “guten morgen”, or “buongiorno”.
The shot of our hiking packs at the top of this post was taken at our favorite lunch break spot, a small restaurant called Alpage de Bovine with amazing 360 views and delicious homemade treats! I was thrilled to find out this was one of the locations we will get to go back to on our hike this year. My stomach is already growling in anticipation!
I have been running a lot more lately to get my legs ready for the mountains and I went to Lululemon for some new workout clothes. Last year I was so chilly when we got high up on the mountains (or came across snow!) so I made sure to purchase a number of wunder unders to keep me warm.
Do you have any big adventures coming up? Make sure to follow me on Instagram to come along on the journey! I’m packing my bags and hitting the trail June 30.
