Tax season was a bit cruel to my pocket book this month… and by “a bit cruel”, I mean it was brutal!
The boyfriend has a stressful week in the works with work and school so I want to do something to show that I care, love him, and am there for him. But since my fun money went out the window this month, I’m brainstorming ways to show him without spending a cent (because clearly if money weren’t a factor I would just buy him this surfboard and he would be the happiest boy in the whole world).
Here are some of my ideas in case your loved one is in need of some special attention this week, too!
Let them pick the movie you watch.
On Sunday night I suffered through Star Wars…. actually I fell asleep during most of it. But at least I got some brownie points for letting him pick and for those few hours his stress melted away.
Do some of their errands or chores.
Sometimes doing a load of their laundry or cleaning the kitchen means more than anything because not only was it a kind task, but you also saved them time during their busy week.
Give extra cuddles.
You can’t deny the relaxing, heartwarming power of cuddles.
Send them “I love you” texts out of the blue.
These always put me in the best mood :) It must do the same for them, right?
Make them their favorite dish for dinner.
It could be pizza, a casserole, or (in the case of the healthy boyfriend) fish and veggies. The way to a man’s heart is through his stomach!
Write them a note.
Coming home to a note on the counter saying “I’m thinking about you” always does the trick.
Post a MCM.
You may say “the best relationship is the one not found on social media”, but let’s be real for a moment. Do you not instantly get a smile on your face when you’re tagged in a WCW? That’s what I thought.
Or simple, brag about how lucky you are to have them on your blog :) Done!
How do you show your loved one that you love them without spending money?
