In April, the boyfriend and I are headed to Costa Rica! His friends are getting married and I’m going along for the fun :)
Although it’s still a few months away, I’m already starting to organize the trip (and go to the gym more).
When packing for a trip, what you don’t bring is just as important as what you do bring.
Here are four things I try not to take with me on vacation:
1. Uncomfortable shoes.
You’re headed somewhere unfamiliar and you have no idea how plans could change. The last thing you want to do is walk a mile in shoes that give you a blister after you just walk downstairs to get into your Uber.
2. New clothes.
If you don’t know how the dress rides up when you walk, how the skirt looks when you accidentally spill something on it, or how wrinkly your sweater gets when you shove it into a suitcase, now is not the time to test it out!
3. Two outfit options for one event.
Let’s be serious, you know which outfit you’re going to pick to wear before even packing them. Save the space and only bring your favorite of the two.
4. Too many books.
I usually have unrealistic expectations about how much I will read on a vacation. I end up lugging three books there and three books back, only having made my way through a few chapters of one. And, if I’m traveling through an airport I always end up picking a new bestseller up at one of the overpriced book stores in the terminal. Only bring one book, no matter what.
What things have you deemed unnecessary or illogical to pack for a vacation?
