I don’t think I’m capable of moving another box for the next year or else I may lose it. My triceps hurt, my back hurts, my head hurts… and I’m still surrounded by boxes.
Not to mention my fridge is still empty so I’ve been surviving off restaurants located within walking distance of my work and new home. Starbucks for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Let’s just say my weekend wasn’t too relaxing, and somehow it’s already Wednesday!
Here are the four (funny but sad) things I learned about myself while moving:
I have way too many wine glasses.
12 plastic wine glasses, 6 red wine glasses, 4 white wine glasses, 6 stemless glasses, and 2 stemless glasses with an ice core. Mind you, I live alone. I’m one person in a studio apartment and I have 30 wine glasses! Literally I could use one for every day of the month. I need a wine glass purge.
I get really hangry.
I actually already knew this about myself, but there’s nothing like a 5am wakeup call, U-Haul truck driving, and only a cup of coffee in your tummy by 10am to really get me a bit testy. There was a mid-move bagel picnic in the U-Haul truck to keep the boyfriend and me from killing each other.
I don’t wear a third of my clothes.
I was moving clothes and was in shock by the amount of clothes I don’t wear. Sometimes it was a stack of t-shirts that haven’t seen the light of day for a year. Sometimes it was a pair of shoes I bought and never wore.
I love having my own space.
Don’t get me wrong, I had the best roommate a girl could ask for over the last two years. But there is just something about getting to control what goes where in kitchen cabinets that makes this OCD girl happy :)
Now that the move is officially over I won’t be as MIA on the blog! Sometimes when it rains, it pours.
Speaking of pouring…. it’s been raining here for about 5 days straight. Thank goodness the boyfriend and I are headed to Florida tomorrow! Bring on the beach, sunshine, golf, and family fun.
