Hello! I’m Lindsay and I blog at Bourbon, Lipstick, and Stilettos. While I don’t consider myself a “beauty blogger” (I’m a bit too camera shy for that!), it is my favorite topic to discuss. I share monthly favorites, an occasional tutorial, and thoughts on popular topics, while trying to maintain my sense of humor. I like to tackle tough subjects like maintaining positive body image, and am currently co-hosting a “Blogging Basics” series. I hope you’ll find there’s something for everyone!
I love when bloggers (or people in general) share their must-have products. I have discovered many of my favorite brands this way! So today I’m sharing products I always have in my makeup bag:
BareMinerals Complexion Rescue Gel: this all-star product helped my skin through the harsh winter months and has been equally helpful during the humid southern summer. My skin is better with it.
Stila Perfectly Poreless Putty Perfector: I’m not a fan of heavy foundation but like the coverage that comes along with it, and this product marries the two: great coverage without the heavy, cakey feeling.
Urban Decay Eye Shadow Primer: the best. What’s the point of wearing eye makeup if it’s going to crease by 2:00 pm? This may seem a bit pricey, but I’ve used the little tube for over six months. You get your money’s worth!
Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer: this concealer is light but instantly brightens my under eye area. It also helps reduce the appearance of fine lines! A win/win for under $10.
Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Liner: there are lots of great drugstore liquid eyeliner options, and I think NYX Cosmetics Liquid Liner is a good dupe for this. However, it stays in place ALL DAY without giving me raccoon eyes and it’s easy to remove! I’ve always avoided waterproof eye products because you generally have to scrub the gentle area to get makeup to budge- this wipes off easily.
Maybelline Falsies Mascara: the only mascara I consistently wear. I’ve tried lots of high-end brands, but this inexpensive drugstore find takes the cake.
Shiseido Eyelash Curler: it may seem silly to spend this much on an eyelash curler, and normally I’d agree. But then I tried it. It doesn’t pinch or crease your lashes. I’ve actually been able to wear less mascara since I began using it! And Sephora sells replacement pads so you don’t have to buy a new curler each time.
Real Techniques Miracle Complexion Sponge: find the Beauty Blender too expensive? This is a fabulous alternative, and it only costs $5.99!
NARS Blush in Orgasm: iconic for a reason. I’ve heard it looks good on everyone, and while I don’t know that to be true, I know it looks good on this fair-skinned blonde. Other blushes come and go, but I always come back to this shade.
Real Techniques Stippling Brush: if you’re searching for good quality makeup brushes that don’t break the bank, Real Techniques is your brand.
Too Faced Candlelight Pressed Powder: provides a beautiful, subtle glow. No disco balls here.
Urban Decay De-Slick Makeup Setting Spray: my face is super oily and this product is a game-changer. I managed to keep a matte face all summer long!
Maybelline Color Sensational Lip Color in Red Revival: I’m the biggest lipstick fan and have tried every brand under the sun. My favorite shade? This $8 tube of lipstick.
NYX Cosmetics Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick in Cherry Skies: this was an impulse buy and one of the best products I ever bought! I have never been asked about another product more: everyone asks what lipstick I’m wearing and what I do to make it last all day. NOTHING. It’s just that good! The best part? It’s only $7!
Tell me, what are your must-have products? Come say hello!
